Hi, I’m Melissa (she/her). I’m a licensed individual and relationship therapist (LMFT) and I have experience working with clients to address a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, OCD, grief, ADHD, and self-esteem. I have a strong background in supporting clients working through childhood trauma. I approach therapy with a relational lens, which means that I believe our past and present relationships greatly impact our well-being and growth. I have received training in and employ a variety of evidence-based practices including DBT, ACT, emotionally focused therapy, prolonged exposure, I-CBT, internal family systems, and mindfulness. I’ve spent the last 9 years in private practice, and before that worked in community mental health settings. I have personal and professional experience working with creatives and am active in my own creative pursuits.
In working together, we’ll collaboratively develop and adjust a plan to help you reach your goals, better understand yourself, and reduce suffering and stress. I provide concrete strategies and supports while also leaving space for clients to talk and process their past and present experiences. I believe everyone has the capacity to grow, change, and heal.
