I have coverage with BCBS, are you in network?

I am in network with Highmark BCBS, which includes Highmark plans, Federal Blue Shield plans, Anthem, and most out of state BCBS plans (e.g. BCBS of Illinois, BCBS of NY). There are some BCBS plans that vary - for example I may be in network depending on your specific coverage with Horizon BCBS and Empire BCBS. The best way to ensure a therapist is in network is to call the number on the back of your insurance card and speak with a representative to confirm.

What BCBS plans are not accepted?

Local Philadelphia plans are a separate entity and not covered by Highmark BCBS. Plans that are not accepted include Independence Blue Cross, Keystone Health Plan East, and Personal Choice.

Are out of network benefits an option?

Out of network benefits vary by insurance plans. Some plans cover a percentage of therapy visits with out of network providers and will reimburse you this amount after a document called a superbill is processed after each session. I am happy to provide documentation for reimbursement. The best way to determine whether you have out of network benefits is to call the number on the back of your insurance card and speak with a representative. You can also confirm that virtual sessions are included in out of network coverage.

Insurance benefits can be complex, feel free to contact me with further questions. I also review information re: coverage and benefits at every initial consultation.
